Household hazardous waste is not collected by Sandia Heights Sanitation — the items listed below can be dropped off for free at Safety-Kleen in Albuquerque.
Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) refers to products commonly found in homes that contain toxic, flammable, corrosive, or reactive substances. Hazardous waste pickup is not available through Sandia Heights Services. Residents of Bernalillo County may bring their residential hazardous waste to the Safety-Kleen at no charge.

When Dropping Off Items
- Bring products in original labeled containers. If not possible, label the container with the contents.
- Do not mix different or unknown materials together.
- Check containers to make sure the lids are on tight.
- Pack leaking containers in a large container and use absorbent material such as cat litter or newspaper to absorb excess fluid.
