SANDIA HEIGHTS SECURITY DEPARTMENT

The Sandia Heights Security Patrol operates a prominently marked vehicle throughout the Sandia Heights community.

The primary function of the security patrol is to provide a high visibility deterrent to crime in the Sandia Heights subdivision. For members the patrol also responds to residential alarm calls, suspicious persons and vehicles, lost persons or pets and assists the Bernalillo County Sheriff's and Fire Departments as needed or requested.

Other functions of the patrol are to provide special watches for residences who are members and respond to loud calls. In some cases we can assist motorists with vehicle problems i.e. jump-starts.

The Patrol consists of five officers and operates approximately 116 hours per week seven days a week, we occasionally stagger shift hours as designated by the manager to provide an element of unpredictability.

Subscribers are encouraged to call the Patrol officer at 263-4654 or the Patrol office at 856-6347 when leaving town for a short or extended period. We will ask a few simple questions regarding the absence and place the residence on a "heavy watch" for the duration of the absence. All information is kept in the strictest of confidence.

Our officers are not members of law enforcement and therefore cannot issue traffic citations or enforce other traffic laws.

A note about covenants: covenants and possible violations thereof are matters for the Sandia Heights Homeowners Association. Please contact their office at 797-7793 for questions regarding covenants and architectural controls.

When any life or limb-threatening incident occurs call 911 first then notify the patrol.
