REFUSE COLLECTION POLICY

Effective 5/1/08

Refuse must be at the road edge no later than 7:00 AM on the day of scheduled collection and no sooner than 5:00 PM on the day prior to collection.

All refuse must be placed in plastic bags or boxes (40 lb. Weight limit per container), not to exceed a total of 10 bags/boxes, cans or bundles per week.

Items that cannot be bagged or boxed must be bundled in 4' x 2' diameter bundles, not to exceed 5 bundles per week. Tree branches or trunks cannot be over 4" in diameter.

Special pickups may be scheduled by calling Customer Service at 857-8924 or the Service Field Office at 856-6347; the cost is $25.00 or $50.00 depending on volume and/or weight is scheduled for Mondays only.

Items considered to be a special pickup include but are not limited to:

Furniture

Appliances (written certification from service person that compressor has been removed)

Bags/Bundles over your regular day limit

ITEMS NOT ALLOWED FOR PICKUP AT ANY TIME INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Lumber scraps, Tires or batteries

Construction materials, Hazardous waste

Flammables, Open piles of weeds/chamisa

Dirt/Rocks/Gravel/Sand/ Concrete/Brick/Cinder Block

Insurance, Workers' Compensation requirements, as well as, volume necessitate the limiting of the number and weight of bags/boxes for the workmen's safety and well-being.

Holiday Refuse Collection Dates for 2008

Memorial Day, Monday May 26th, will be picked up on Tuesday, May 27th.

Fourth of July Friday, will be picked up on Monday July 7th.

Labor Day Monday September 1st, will be picked up Tuesday September 2nd.

Thanksgiving Day Thursday November 27th, will be picked up on Friday, November 28th.

Christmas Day, Thursday December 25th, will be collected on Friday, December 26th

New Year's Day, Thursday, January 1st 2009 will be collected on Friday, January 2nd 2009.

If your regular pickup day falls on a Holiday, refuse will be collected the following BUSINESS DAY.

We request that you use garbage bags, placed curbside no later than 7:00 a.m. on the morning of your pick-up day. To avoid animals getting into the bags, you may wish to place them in a trash container.
